The movie I chose "me before you" is a
romance / drama, which talks about Louisa Clark who lost his job when the cafe
closes. She goes to the Employment Center and, after several failed attempts,
is offered a job opportunity: helping to care for Will Traynor, a successful,
wealthy young man who developed quadriplegia in a motorcycle pedestrian
accident two years earlier. Will's mother, Camilla, hires Louisa despite her
lack of experience, believing that Louisa can enlighten her spirit. Louisa and
Will's relationship starts out rocky due to their bitterness and resentment for
being like that. Things get worse after Will's ex-girlfriend Alicia and best
friend Rupert reveal they are getting married. Under Louisa's care, she becomes
more communicative and open-minded as they share experiences together. Will,
after six months, goes to a clinic in Switzerland to die because he does not
accept the fact that he depends on others for everything. The romance ends with
Louisa at a cafe in Paris, reading the last words Will wrote to say to her
"live well". Despite not agreeing much with the ending, in my opinion
he should not have stopped fighting, and the happiness he could have. The film
would really be a story of effort and overcoming if he had decided to resume
life when it all seemed to be over.
